Al Noor Mosque stands on the shore of Khalid Lake in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It was built in the Ottoman architectural style and is said to be influenced by the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul. Two minarets and a large central dome define the building, and the dome is ringed by windows of coloured glass. Carved and ornamental decoration appears on the columns inside and outside the mosque. It holds about 2,200 worshippers, 1,800 men and 400 women. It is one of roughly 600 mosques in Sharjah and one of only three open to non-Muslim visitors.
