The Alasifia school, also known as the Mosque-Madrasa of al-Asifyah, is a Sufi mosque and madrasa complex in Baghdad, close to the bank of the Tigris and to the head of the old bridge. It stands next to the al-Wazeer Mosque. Besides the madrasa, the complex includes old courts, other former government buildings and a palace, all within a site of about 7.57 hectares that forms part of a tentative UNESCO World Heritage listing. A small shrine within the complex is believed to hold the remains of the scholar al-Kulayni, and it may also contain the tomb of the Sufi imam al-Muhasibi.
