Masjid Namirah stands in Wadi Uranah near Mecca, close to Mount Arafat, and is counted among the key landmarks of the Arafat area. During the Hajj, the sermon is delivered here on the Day of Arafah, and pilgrims pray the Dhuhr and Asr prayers combined and shortened, in gatherings of tens of thousands. It is believed to be the place where the Prophet Muhammad stayed before giving his farewell sermon at Arafat.
