The Mosque of Islamic Solidarity stands in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. It is considered the city's main mosque and is regarded as the most important mosque in the Horn of Africa. It occupies a hill near the city centre, only a few hundred metres from the Indian Ocean and close to the federal parliament. Its Somali name is given as Masjidka Isbahaysiga or Masaajidka Isbaheysiga.

The mosque was financed by the Saudi government with funds from the Fahd bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Foundation. Our record gives 1987 as the year of construction, while some sources date its opening to 1976. The Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud bin Faisal, attended the inauguration.
After the outbreak of the Somali civil war the mosque was closed. It reopened in 2006, following the rise of the Islamic Courts Union.
