The Kazasker İvaz Efendi Mosque stands in the Fatih district of Istanbul, within the area of the historic peninsula. It is built of alternating stone and brick and has a single main dome supported by five half domes. The minaret rises at the corner of the qibla wall. Instead of one central main door, the front façade has two doors, one on each side. A plaque above the entrance names Mimar Sinan as its architect. The mosque was once part of a larger complex, of which only the mosque and a fountain remain. The garden contains pits and tunnels, and remains of the Anemas Dungeons lie nearby. The building is registered as a cultural asset requiring protection.

The mosque is dated 1585, and the plaque over its entrance attributes it to Mimar Sinan. It is named after İvaz Efendi, who served as military judge (kazasker) of Anatolia and of Rumelia under Suleiman the Magnificent. Because he came from Manavgat, he is also known as Manav İvazağa. He is buried in the cemetery in the mosque garden.

The building was originally part of a külliye, but only the mosque and the fountain have survived. The İvaz Efendi Fountain, opposite the courtyard entrance, has been restored.

Until 1998 the mosque housed a relic held to be a hair of the Prophet Muhammad's beard. It later disappeared in circumstances that remain unexplained.
