The Omar ibn AlKhatab Mosque stands in the historic core of Dumat al-Jandal in Saudi Arabia's Al Jawf Province, within the old city's Al-Darʿi quarter and next to Marid Castle. It is a stone mosque of the early Islamic era and is described as a Sunni place of worship. Its minaret, set at the south-west corner of the prayer hall and rising in tapering tiers, is considered the earliest surviving minaret of its type in northern Arabia. The layout continues the pattern of the first mosques and recalls the early phases of the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. It is also valued as one of the oldest archaeological mosques whose plan has not been altered.

The mosque is named after the Rashidun caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab, to whom its construction is traditionally attributed. According to tradition, he built it while travelling to take part in the conquest of Jerusalem, although this attribution has been contested. Its minaret is regarded as the first of its kind built in northern Arabia.
