The Al-Nilin Mosque, whose Arabic name means "Mosque of the two Niles", stands in Omdurman, Sudan, on the Omdurman bank of the Nile close to the confluence of the White and Blue Niles. Its form recalls a giant shell, and it is regarded as one of the country's notable works of religious architecture. The roof meets the ground directly, much like a shell. According to the sources, it was the first building in Sudan constructed with aluminium partitions and without lifting columns. Its position facing the meeting of the rivers is a defining feature of the site.

The idea and design are attributed to the architect Qamar al-Dawla al-Tahir and began in the mid-1970s as a graduation project at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Khartoum.

The mosque was opened on 2 September 1984, during the presidency of Jaafar Nimeiry. According to the source, the boxer Muhammad Ali Clay attended the opening ceremony in the mid-1980s.
