The Great Mosque of Chefchaouen is regarded as the oldest mosque and the main historic Friday mosque of the city in northern Morocco. It stands on the central Place Outa Hammam, close to the historic kasbah. The building is spacious and is known for its octagonal minaret. A wooden chandelier hangs in the middle of the mihrab aisle and is described as nearly unique in its material and the density of its decoration. Thanks to its distinctive design, the mosque receives many Moroccan and foreign visitors each year.

The mosque was founded in the 16th century, during the rule of the Beni Rashid al-Alami Idrisid dynasty over Chefchaouen. It is attributed to the city's ruler, Sidi Muhammad ibn Moulay Ali ibn Musa ibn Rashid al-Alami. Construction was completed in 969 AH.
