Data controller

MasjidAtlas (masjidatlas.org) is a namaz.info service and is supported by Dijital Plus. You can send all requests about your personal data through the contact form by choosing the “Privacy / data request” topic.

What data we process

• Account data: if you register, your name, email address and an irreversibly hashed form of your password.
• Contribution data: the content you write in mosque submissions, the photos you upload, your name and email address if you submit as a guest, your rights confirmation and consent time.
• Report and contact data: your optional email address in problem reports; your name, email address and message in the contact form.
• Technical data: an irreversible hash of your IP address to prevent abuse (the raw IP address is not stored in these records), server security logs and session cookies.
• Location: in the “Mosques near me” feature, the location shared by your browser is used only for that search and is not stored.

For what purposes

• Providing the atlas, managing your account and keeping your session secure,
• Reviewing and publishing your contributions and informing you about their status,
• Crediting contributors on photos,
• Replying to your messages and reports,
• Preventing spam, fake records and abuse, and meeting legal obligations.

Legal bases

Your data is processed on the basis of the performance of the service you use, our legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations and, where required, your explicit consent (for example optional analytics cookies).

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising. The following service providers are used to run the service technically; they are subject to their own privacy terms and some may be located abroad:

• Hosting provider: the servers running the site and database,
• OpenStreetMap: map images and address search in the add-mosque form (your search query and IP address are sent to this service),
• Content delivery networks and Google Fonts: page libraries and fonts,
• Google Translate: only for machine translation of mosque content; your personal data is not sent to this service,
• Google Analytics: only if enabled and only if you allow it in the cookie notice.

Retention

• Account data: as long as your account is open; deleted within a reasonable time after your deletion request.
• Contributions: published content remains part of the atlas; guest names and email addresses are kept for the review and tracking process and deleted on request.
• Contact messages and reports: as long as needed to resolve the request and for possible disputes.
• Security logs: as long as required by legal obligations.

Your rights

You have the right to learn whether your data is processed, to request information, to learn the purpose of processing and the recipients, to request correction, deletion or destruction of incomplete or incorrect data, to have these actions notified to recipients, to object to outcomes against you resulting from automated analysis, and to claim compensation for damages.

You can submit your requests through the contact form. Requests are concluded within 30 days at the latest. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the competent data protection authority.

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored irreversibly, only authorised people can access the administration area, and request limits are applied against abuse.

Children

Reading the atlas is open to everyone. Creating an account and submitting contributions requires the user to be old enough to consent on their own behalf, or to act with parental permission.

Changes

We may update this notice as the service changes. The current version is always on this page; the date is shown at the top.
