About the atlas
What is MasjidAtlas?
A free catalogue that records the world’s mosques and masjids with their location, architecture, history and stories. It is a namaz.info service.
Do I need an account to use the atlas?
No. You don’t need an account to search mosques, browse the map or read pages. An account is only useful if you want to follow all your submissions in one place.
Where does the information come from?
From sources compiled by our editors and from user contributions. Every contribution is reviewed before publication, and sources are kept with the record. See the Editorial policy page for details.
How does “Mosques near me” work?
If your browser asks for location permission and you allow it, your location is used only to find the mosques closest to you and is not stored. Without permission, you can search by city or mosque name.
Contributing
How do I add a new mosque?
Fill in the four-step form on the “Add a mosque” page: basic details, location on the map, photos and sources, and a final review. Your submission is published after editorial review.
How can I follow my submission?
You receive a tracking link after submitting. It shows the status (Received, In review, Needs changes, Approved, Rejected) and any editor note. If you submitted while signed in, you can also follow it on the “My submissions” page.
I found an error in a record. What should I do?
Use the “Suggest a correction” button on the mosque page. Choose the type of problem and write a short description; adding a source link speeds up the review.
Why might a submission be rejected?
If the mosque is already in the atlas, the location cannot be verified, the information is unsourced and inconsistent, or the photo rights are unclear. In most cases we first get back to you with a “Needs changes” note.
Photos
Which photos can I upload?
JPG, PNG or WebP photos that you took yourself or have permission to share. Please avoid images where people’s faces are clearly visible, that focus on people in prayer, or that carry watermarks.
Will my name appear on my photos?
Yes, approved photos credit you as the contributor (with the name you entered). If you want a photo removed, write to us through the contact form.
Languages
Which languages is the site available in?
Turkish, English, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Indonesian, Urdu and Persian. You can switch language from the selector at the top or bottom of the page.
Who translates the content?
Turkish, English and Arabic content is prepared by editors. The other languages are machine-translated and marked as such on the page; if you notice a poor translation, please let us know.
Account and privacy
How can I delete my account or data?
Choose the “Privacy / data request” topic in the contact form to request deletion of your account and personal data. Published mosque information may remain in the atlas anonymously.
Do you use advertising or tracking cookies?
We do not use advertising cookies. An analytics tool for visit statistics only runs if you allow it. Details are on the Cookie policy page.
